Expedition 8000 Mitts

The 850 fill down inside really locks in heat, and the outer Pertex fabric sheds snow without ever feeling stiff. I've worn them on two below-zero hikes and my fingers stayed toasty the whole time, though I did have to adjust the wrist cinch a few times to get the perfect seal.

Weighs next to nothing for what it is—the 30D Pertex shell feels tougher than I expected while stuffing the 850 fill down inside. Took them out in single digits and my hands stayed warm even gripping ski poles for an hour straight.

The 850 fill down plus PrimaLoft combo is a smart mix—it traps heat fast and holds it even when I’m sweating on the ascent. First trip out in single digits and my fingers stayed toasty the whole time, no complaints.
