The inside fleece is so soft that I actually look forward to layering it under a shell on cold days. It blocks the wind better than my old softshell without feeling stiff.

I’ve been wearing this during chilly fall hikes and the stretch woven nylon holds up well against branches while keeping the wind out. The inside fleece is cozy enough that I don’t need an extra layer under 50 degrees.

I was worried about bulk but this softshell is surprisingly trim while still being incredibly warm thanks to that brushed fleece interior. The outer nylon weave handles light wind and drizzle without feeling stiff or noisy, which really sells it for everyday wear.
