Pro Light Picket 21"

The horizontal placement on firm spring snow held a solid fall during a practice session—no budging at all. It’s noticeably lighter than my old steel picket, which makes a real difference on long approaches where every gram counts.

Used these on a recent Denali trip and they plunged into hard wind slab like butter. The option to place them horizontally or vertically is a real game-changer when the snow conditions keep shifting. Saved us serious time setting up a solid anchor.

Finally had a chance to test these in wind-scoured alpine snow and the horizontal placement option worked perfectly. The tapered tip cut in fast with just a few kicks.
