Alpine PAS - Main image
$25.87 $36.95 In stock

Category: Climbing Accessories

A lightweight alpine personal anchor system chain from Metolius.  This sling is much lighter, a little shorter, and more compact than the Metolus PAS 22, but is not as strong and can not be used for equalizing anchors like the PAS 22 can.  This piece of gear can be safer, more adjustable, and easier to use than a lot of other types of slings that are commonly used for personal tethers.

  • 11 mm custom blend Monster webbing
  • 36.5 inches (93 cm)
  • 14 kN breaking strength (3150 lbf)
  • 1.7 oz (50 g)

Zoe D. ★★★★★

The shorter length is actually perfect for alpine starts where every gram matters. I clipped it into my harness and barely noticed it was there during a long approach.

William ★★★★★

I was surprised how much less it weighs than my old PAS, which makes racking up on long approaches a joy. The shorter length keeps it tidy on my harness without any extra flapping. It's a solid choice if you prioritize compactness over absolute strength for most moderate routes.

Isabella D. ★★★★★

Took this on a wet, windy multipitch and the compact size made racking it way less bulky than my old chain. It's a bit shorter, so I just clove in a little tighter, but the weight savings are worth it.
